Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement.

LEC Contractors is a property maintenance business which operates within the United Kingdom. This Modern Slavery Statement (‘Statement’, ‘Policy’) is for LEC Contractors (‘we’, ‘us’) and is made in accordance with section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. This statement covers all LEC Contractors operations.

We understand that detecting and preventing modern slavery is essential due to its significant effect on its victims and society as a whole. We are committed to undertaking business in an ethical and responsible manner, with zero tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. We undertake due diligence to eliminate modern-day slavery in their business operations and supply chains.

At LEC Contractors we undertake our own risk assessments in relation to human slavery and human trafficking. We have an ongoing process on reviewing and improving our practices to eradicate any possibility of slavery and human trafficking taking place within our business operations.

Our Business

LEC Contractors is a property maintenance business which operates within the United Kingdom. We specialise in property maintenance withing the commercial and residential sector. Our core activities include but are not limited to:

  • Emergency repairs

  • Preventative maintenance

  • External repairs

  • Flooring repair, renovation and replacements

  • Mechanical and electrical engineering

  • Interior and exterior painting

  • Waste Removals

  • Window Cleaning services

  • Full property renovation

 

Although we operate within the UK we recognise that our supply chains may extend out with those borders. We hold all our suppliers and contractors to our high standards to make sure there is no tolerance for human trafficking and modern slavery occurs within our business operations. We will not continue to work with any contractors or suppliers who do not adhere to these standards.

We ensure our staff are trained and qualified to meet regulations and our high standards of integrity, conduct, ethics and fairness. We have set standards for the behaviours of our employees, suppliers and business partners.

At LEC Contractors we believe that, due to the measures we have put in place and ongoing reviews of risk assessments within our operations, the risk of modern slavery or human trafficking occurring within our business is reasonably low. We have not experienced any instances of modern slavery or human trafficking within our business.

Whistleblowing policy

​

Our whistleblowing policy ensures all of our staff, suppliers and other business partners can report any potential cases of modern slavery and human trafficking. Everyone is responsible to report suspected human slavery. Reporting human slavery is important as it helps to;

​

  • Identify potential victims

  • Gives victims access to vital support

  • Helps law enforcement investigate and prosecute traffickers

 

All reports made will be confidential and will be taken seriously by the business. Any reports made will be acted upon immediately and investigated by the appropriate authorities. If the report is for an external company or supplier we will cease all operations with them and it will report to the local authorities.
